Already have a dog or cat?

Owning a pet is lots of fun. It's also, as you know by now, a large responsibility.

The kindest thing you can do for your pet is TRAIN him/her RIGHT AWAY. Some people think of training as punitive and "mean" and don't "want to do that" to the new dog or cat. In fact, training is fun and a wonderful bonding experience for you and your new animal friend.

To locate a certified pet dog trainer in your area, contact the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) at 1-800-PET-DOGS or log onto www.apdt.com.
